  1. 1955

    Since our founding in 1955 Dunlop Oil & Marine has become recognized as a leading supplier to all major oil and dredging companies worldwide. All our products are designed and manufactured in Grimsby, UK, which boasts the largest production facility for large bore hoses in the world.


    Our ability to recognize and respond to changing operational and customer requirements has led to us being responsible for all the major innovations in hose technology throughout our history:

  2. 1958

    Supplied hoses for the world’s first single point mooring.

  3. 1963

    Introduced the world’s first integrally floated oil hose ‘SELFLOTE’.

  4. 1973

    Supplied the first specialized tanker rail hose.

  5. 1973

    Improved ‘first off buoy’ hoses were introduced.

  6. 1975

    Introduced the world’s first double carcass anti-pollution floating hose ‘SAFLOTE’.

  7. 1982

    Introduced the world’s first double carcass anti-pollution submarine hose ‘SAFGARD’.

  8. 1984

    First successful catenary hose design introduced.

  9. 1994

    First double carcass helix-free hose introduced.

  10. 2000

    Adapted 20” double carcass floating hose for a reeling application.

  11. 2005

    Launch of ‘DEEPFLO’, a unique solution for deepwater oil export, developed to meet the stringent API 17K standard .
